ATLANTA, GA — [November 13, 2025] — Surthrive, a mission-driven marketing consultancy dedicated to advancing inclusive economic growth, has been selected by the New Orleans Redevelopment Authority (NORA) as one of the firms to provide marketing technical assistance services for the agency’s new Small Business Marketing Assistance Program.

The initiative was designed to support entrepreneurs in New Orleans’ low-to-moderate income (LMI) neighborhoods by helping them strengthen visibility, expand digital capacity, and increase business revenue—ultimately boosting the local community economy.

Bridging the Marketing Gap for Underserved Entrepreneurs

Small businesses in LMI communities often lack the marketing resources, tools, and training needed to compete with large retailers and online brands—leading to reduced sales, early closures, and commercial vacancies that hinder neighborhood vitality. According to The Data Center, nearly half (49%) of New Orleans’ businesses are minority-owned, yet those in predominantly Black and LMI neighborhoods earn only 2% of total business revenues.

The Small Business Marketing Assistance Program aims to change that by equipping local entrepreneurs with the knowledge, strategies, and systems to grow sustainable businesses and attract new customers.

About the Small Business Marketing Assistance Program

Through NORA’s Small Business Marketing Assistance Program, Surthrive will deliver hands-on technical assistance to small business owners—helping them strengthen visibility, build capacity to manage and sustain marketing efforts, and grow revenue through tailored marketing strategies.

Participants will receive marketing services including:

  • Customized marketing strategies rooted in data and community insight
  • Digital marketing implementation support, including social media and paid-ad optimization, web design, email marketing, and print design
  • User-friendly templates and toolkits to streamline marketing operations

By the end of the program, participating businesses will have a clear, actionable framework to manage and grow their marketing efforts well beyond the program’s duration—helping ensure lasting impact.
