SharedSpace, is a coworking community catering to entrepreneurs who live outside of the perimeter of Downtown Atlanta and want to work at a convenient location closer to home.

Challenge

From experiencing rapid success within a year of opening its first location in Dunwoody, the fairly new coworking space saw the opportunity to expand its footprint in Metro Atlanta by opening a new location in Cobb.

With over 30 coworking spaces opening in Metro Atlanta within the past 5 years, our challenge was to:

  1. Clearly communicate SharedSpace’ competitive advantage
  2. Increase brand awareness to entrepreneurs around Atlanta
  3. Increase membership

SharedSpace sought to create an experience that promoted their “Share Your Success” mentality by creating a collaborative environment for rising entrepreneurs while giving back to the community in a charitable way.

Solution

Experiential

Surthrive assisted with the curation of a city-wide pitch competition called Collab and Compete. This collaborative pitch competition gave early-stage entrepreneurs the opportunity to connect, collaborate, and compete for a chance to win a Grand Prize of $2,500 plus an additional $1,000 donated towards any charity of the winners choice.

  • First Round: To maximize the exposure of both locations, we hosted the preliminary event at SharedSpace Dunwoody, where 20 entrepreneurs broke off into groups to practice and gain valuable feedback from one another to prepare them for the first round of pitches for a chance to earn one of five finalists spots at the main event.
  • Main Event: To maximize the attendance of the main event, we simultaneously planned the Grand Opening and Ribbon Cutting of the new location on the same day as the Collab and Compete Pitch Competition. Also, we didn’t tell the entrepreneurs who were the finalists until the day of. 😉
